Food pairing: Lamb loin and roasted root vegetables or Beef Stroganoff.
Spier Seaward range of wines are influenced in style and complexity by the coastal Cape terroir in which the grapes are grown. The Darling, Durbanville and south of Stellenbosch vineyards are all within 25km of the cold Atlantic seaboard, the temperate waters of False Bay and the two ocean currents that collide at its shores.
In summer, cooling ocean breezes and cooler soils - a combination of granitic and shale - provide optimal conditions for gradual ripening. Careful selection of berries at harvest and minimal interference by our winemakers in the cellar ensures the full expression of these unique climatic conditions. These wines express a purity of fruit and a saline minerality, with great concentration, balance and finesse to reward the curious drinker.
Spier’s Growing for Good initiatives empower our communities to make positive social and environmental change.
